My Very First Computer

Most of my experience on a computer was not at school but on my best friend Andrew’s computer, which was a Acer Aspire 1100 series. I spent a lot of time at his house chatting on AOL and surfing the web. They even let me create my own AOL screen name on their account, CoryGump82. I can’t for the life of me remember what model the ACER was. I do remember it was a black with a handle on the front. If you pulled the handle you could open the computer up by sliding the computer out from the housing.

I got my first desktop computer as a graduation present from my parents. I got it around my birthday (April) my senior year of highschool (2000). It was a used computer which my parents purchased from “Millions Used Computers” in Southbend. It wasn’t until later that I learned that the guy that owns Millions (Tyrone Miller), is over priced and rips people off. Anyway my first PC was a Compaq Presario 4550. It housed a AMD K6 was a 233 mhz, 48 mb RAM, and a 4 GB hard drive. About the only thing it could do was play music and get on the internet. What more could any teen ager want from a machine? I did try to put a cd burner in it but that did not work out. I think the machine crashed everytime I tried to burn a CD or it would do a buffer under run. I joined the military right after highschool and when I got back from my military school I tried to upgrade my computer and learned that it was not upgradeable. I kept the machine until finally it took a crap (I think the power supply took a shit), and then built my own machine, which was really fun! My boss at work, Ron Deal, helped me set it up. But anyway that was about my first computer. What was your first computer??

Transmit 3.5.1 is Released

Transmit 3.5.1 was released on the 3 days ago by their creators Panic. If you legally own Transmit 3 you can get a free upgrade, otherwise it’s $29. If you don’t legally own it and think you can download it and find a serial in Serial Box you are wrong. The latest version of Serial Box only covers up to version 3.2.1 of Transmit. But if you do happen to download 3.5.1 and over write your current version just download the older version again. Transmit does not keep older versions of Transmit on their site so you will have to find it somewhere else….like here. :)

Serial Box

Serial box is a very controversial tool to look up serial numbers for various Mac OS programs. I have been keeping up to date on this program up to the most recent version. However I have noticed that the site www.serialz.to has been going down recently. Upon downloading this months release of serial box I noticed that they have updated their program to incorporate video game cheat codes and more. Anyway here are the latest and greatest Serial Box Files. You will need to download a reader “iSerial Reader” and a database “Serial Box” to use the program. Here are the two files. If you want older versions just post a comment and let me know.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Last night Katy and I had the chance to watch “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” together. If this movie was not based on a true story, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much. I’m not really into scary movies, although I will watch them from time to time. I don’t think this movie is as frightening as I thought it was going to be. This movie had a law and order feel to it since the bulk of the movie took place in a courtroom. After watching the movie I couldn’t sleep so I did some research on Emily Rose and the real case. I have also searched all over the internet for audio files of the taped exorcisms. The closest thing I have found is a recording on eBay for $6.99 and I didn’t think it was worth it.
