Anyway this is the page that I encountered. This page was only up for a few minutes that I noticed, so I thought I would share it with everyone.

Bicycle Accident

Posted in Daily Rant by Administrator on the June 20th, 2006, 2:01am

Today while riding bicycles with Brian and David, I made a bad decision and now I am paying for it. We were on our way back from riding through downtown Elkhart I managed to crash my bicycle and end up in the Emergency room at Elkhart General. While peddling down the sidewalk on the east side of Main Street just before Indiana Avenue crosses I attempted to ride across the top of the beautiful stone wall that was constructed when the underpass was built. I lost my balance and tried to make an exit off of the wall at a height of about 3 feet and managed to flip my bike and slice my leg on the top edge of the wall while I was falling. At first I didn’t know the severity of my accident and being extremely embarrassed I tried to act like a man and got back on my bicycle and crossed Indiana Avenue and continued to head south on Main Street. After crossing I felt it was safe to check out my wounds and immediately noticed the wound just below my left knee. It was then that I made the decision that I need to go to the hospital even though I don’t have any health insurance. I sat down and straightened my leg and began to call Devin (my brother) and his girlfriend, since they are the closest people to come pick me up. Remember we are all on bicycles and about 4 miles away from Devin’s house. I looked at my wounds some more and tried to find a reason to not go to the emergency room. Noticing that the sharp stone cut through the fatty tissue in my leg and down to the muscle, I figured it would be best to get it stitched up even though it would cost a fortune. I then repeatedly tried to call Devin and Alisa, but didn’t get a response. By this time David had began to peddle as fast as he can back to Devin’s so that he could get his (David’s) truck. After calling Devin and Alisa a dozen or so times I began to get a little freaked out and started to go into shock. I took some deep breaths and called Katy to let her know what happened and in the most calmest voice told her that I was ok but that I needed to go to the ER and to meet me there. I called Heather and Mike who were the next closest and asked them to come and get me rationalizing that they would be able to reach me faster. (This turned out to be a huge misjudgment on my part, and due to my panicking) I’m usually pretty calm and collected when stuff like this happens, but I think part of my panicking was due to me feeling helpless sitting on the side of the street with a deep wound. Brian stayed by my side, being the good friend that he is and kept me cool and collected. David showed up in no time at all and I called Heather and Mike back let them know not to pick me up, I guess he (David) peddled his ass off to get back as quickly as possible. He drove me to the hospital where we met up with Katy and we sat in the ER for about an hour and a half. The doctor stapled me up and gave me a tD shot. Katy and I then went to Wal-Greens to get the prescription filled and came home. I will let you guys know what the hospital is charging me. My prescription of anti-biotics was only $15. We told them we wanted the generics when we filled it. Well, I’m off to bed, I’m sure I will be hurting in the morning. Not something I am looking forward too. Oh, yeah check out the pics to the left. Click one of them to view them all.

Data Mining on the Internet with Google

Posted in Hacks by Administrator on the June 8th, 2006, 10:22pm

Google has quickly become one of the most well known words in the world and is used by millions daily, including myself. In an advanced database class back in university, we spent a couple of weeks studying the inner workings of search engines, and one topic which happened to come up was data mining using Google. Much to my surprise, out of a class of 80 fourth year computer engineers maybe four or five knew how to use Google to perform any sort of advanced queries.

Google (and many other search engines) has the ability not only to search on keywords, but also using a more “database-ish” query language to really narrow down your search results. Below is a summary of a few of the most useful lesser known features. Note: in the examples, replace cwire.org with your own domain.
