After The Wedding
Sunday was extremely hectic and our day was consumed by visiting people and taking care of odds and ends. We opened up all of our presents and cards and toted them all back to our house. A big THANK YOU to everyone who gave us gifts! We then visited our pastor who married us and he signed the marriage license, went to Katy’s moms house to get some things, went to Brian’s to pick up our gift, and traveled all over Elkhart taking care of odds and ends. Katy then went to hang out with Dave and Kiarin the Australians and I rode my bike with Brian.
Monday we dropped off Mozart at the Kennel, and dropped Dave and Kiarin off at the airport so they could get their rental. We then went back home and I dropped off my tux and went to the bank to deposite our wedding money. I then went home and mowed the lawn and we were out the door by 3:30pm or so and off to our Honeymoon. We showed up at Serenity Springs which is in Laporte. My first impression of the place was “Is this a nudist resort”? It turned out to be just a great place to relax and spend time alone. The resort has individual cabins which have themes. Katy and I had the Sweetheart cabin which included a heart shaped whirlpool in front of a big tv. We never left the cabin because it was so hot outside and the next day we took off to Michigan.
Tuesday we woke up from Serenity Springs and headed to Old Mission Peninsula. It took us a total of 5 hours to get up here. We showed up at about 1:30pm, about a half an hour before check-in time. Chateau Chantal is located on the tip of the peninsula at the top of a hill over looking the rest of the peninsula. Vineyards are surrounding the Chateau and it’s absolutely gorgeous. While waiting for our room to be ready Katy and I wine tasted and relaxed for a bit. After getting to our room we ate some chocolate and unpacked. We decided to get dinner down the road at the Art Gallery Inn. From the outside the Inn looked kind of janky and not very impressive. It turned out to be one of the nicest resturants I have ever been too. I had Cherry Basted Duckling, and Katy had some kind of White Fish. Our bill turned out to be about $60.00 for the both of us which included two dinners and two drinks. We came back and both took naps until 9pm and then watched a thunderstorm roll in from the deck outside the Chateau. The storm was absolutely awesome to watch from the view we had. We then went to Meijer and bought a DVD player which will not hook up to our TV. Our room did not come with a DVD player unfortunately and we want to watch Broke Back Mountain. (It’s supposed to be a good movie) We then went to bed.
Wednesday, Katy and I just woke up about an hour ago and had breakfast. We are about to go on a tour of the Winery that is located in the basement. I have to get dressed pretty warm because it’s like 60 F down there.
I will be writing more later.

Congradulations you guys! Hope you are having fun. Katy your dress was beautiful!!! You two are adorable together.
