Last night Devin, Lisa, Shane, and Justin came over to light some fireworks off. Devin, being the ingenious builder that he is, constructed a platform which held the mortar launching barrels. Here are some videos of the event.

Anyway this is the page that I encountered. This page was only up for a few minutes that I noticed, so I thought I would share it with everyone.

Today while riding bicycles with Brian and David, I made a bad decision and now I am paying for it. We were on our way back from riding through downtown Elkhart I managed to crash my bicycle and end up in the Emergency room at Elkhart General. While peddling down the sidewalk on the east side of Main Street just before Indiana Avenue crosses I attempted to ride across the top of the beautiful stone wall that was constructed when the underpass was built. I lost my balance and tried to make an exit off of the wall at a height of about 3 feet and managed to flip my bike and slice my leg on the top edge of the wall while I was falling. At first I didn’t know the severity of my accident and being extremely embarrassed I tried to act like a man and got back on my bicycle and crossed Indiana Avenue and continued to head south on Main Street. After crossing I felt it was safe to check out my wounds and immediately noticed the wound just below my left knee. It was then that I made the decision that I need to go to the hospital even though I don’t have any health insurance. I sat down and straightened my leg and began to call Devin (my brother) and his girlfriend, since they are the closest people to come pick me up. Remember we are all on bicycles and about 4 miles away from Devin’s house. I looked at my wounds some more and tried to find a reason to not go to the emergency room. Noticing that the sharp stone cut through the fatty tissue in my leg and down to the muscle, I figured it would be best to get it stitched up even though it would cost a fortune. I then repeatedly tried to call Devin and Alisa, but didn’t get a response. By this time David had began to peddle as fast as he can back to Devin’s so that he could get his (David’s) truck. After calling Devin and Alisa a dozen or so times I began to get a little freaked out and started to go into shock. I took some deep breaths and called Katy to let her know what happened and in the most calmest voice told her that I was ok but that I needed to go to the ER and to meet me there. I called Heather and Mike who were the next closest and asked them to come and get me rationalizing that they would be able to reach me faster. (This turned out to be a huge misjudgment on my part, and due to my panicking) I’m usually pretty calm and collected when stuff like this happens, but I think part of my panicking was due to me feeling helpless sitting on the side of the street with a deep wound. Brian stayed by my side, being the good friend that he is and kept me cool and collected. David showed up in no time at all and I called Heather and Mike back let them know not to pick me up, I guess he (David) peddled his ass off to get back as quickly as possible. He drove me to the hospital where we met up with Katy and we sat in the ER for about an hour and a half. The doctor stapled me up and gave me a tD shot. Katy and I then went to Wal-Greens to get the prescription filled and came home. I will let you guys know what the hospital is charging me. My prescription of anti-biotics was only $15. We told them we wanted the generics when we filled it. Well, I’m off to bed, I’m sure I will be hurting in the morning. Not something I am looking forward too. Oh, yeah check out the pics to the left. Click one of them to view them all.
As my first post on this blog I thought I’d share something fun with everyone. I’m not into auto racing very much, but it’s hard not to get a smile on your face when you see this video.

My birthday is just days away and I know I’m not the easiest person to shop for even if you know me well. So, I thought I would give people an idea of some things that I would like. First off I am not saying you should buy me something. A simple birthday card would do the trick and would make me feel quite special. But for those that would like to be unnecessarily generous, here are some things that would be supa sweet! I’m big into reading magazines and they only come in one color, size, and style, which makes it easier to buy.

My friends and I were sitting in the lab and began to look up cities in Indiana on Wikipedia. We then discovered a town by the name of Boston, Indiana which had a population of 133 according to the 2000 census. I then gave the proposition that we should have a “game” to find the smallest town in Indiana according to wikipedia. A few minutes later I came accross a motorcycle blog where the rider came across “The Smallest Town in Indiana’. The name of the town is New Amsterdam, IN and is located along southern Indiana along the Ohio river. New Amsterdam is reported to have a population of 1 according to the 2000 US Census Bureau. The town apparently does not have a Post Office and all of the mail gets sent to a nearby town called “Mauckport, IN” and someone there drives it to New Amsterdam. Well when the Census came around, the driver never dropped off the Census Forms. A lady that lived in the town called and said that she lived there. So in the Census report it only reports 1 person living in the town. Rumor also has it that there are more people that live in the town. I think I might take a trip to this town someday to check it out. I will be sure to take a camera with me if I go
